She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Marvin Smith, Sr. and Nannie Bell Robison; her former husband George Franklin "June" Hovis, Jr.; and her daughter Brenda Hovis Spencer. She is survived by: her husband James Durham; her son Bryant Hovis (Kelly); her son-in-law David Spencer; and her sister Dot Putman.
