She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Col Jack Thomas Gillis and Josephine Annie Carmack Gillis; her brothers, Thomas Abel Stone, Roderick Edward Gillis and Robert Clark Gillis; her husband Lynn Martin Lard of Harvest, AL; her daughters, Heather Gaines (Trent) of Huntsville, AL and Susan Chipps (Marc) of American Falls, ID; her sister Jennifer Cai Gillis (Tim Sullivan); her grandchildren, Mason Gaines (Summer), Grace Mason (Maverick), Katie Claire Key (Harrison) and Annaliesse Gaines; and her great grandchildren, Brexley Chipps, Gabriel Mason, Sawyer Gaines, Emmett Mason and Parker Gaines.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Berryhill Funeral Home & Crematory (2305 Memorial Pkwy NW, Huntsville, AL 35810). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Hurricane Helene Relief and Recovery efforts.
