It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John D. Smith of Harvest, Alabama, who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John D. Smith to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillie Dorning Smith and Leamon C. Smith; his brother Carlos Allen Smith; and his wife Marguerite. He is survived by: his children, Sharon Turman (Kenneth) of Atlanta, GA and Phillip D. Smith (Lesley) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Jeremy Turman (Amber), Ryan Smith, Diana Mantilla (David), Meredith Smith, Lily Turman and Steele Smith; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Turman, Holden Turman and Sophia Mantilla.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville (2411 Memorial Pkwy NW, Huntsville, AL 35810). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Tuck Cemetery Tuck Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wounded Warriors Charity in JD's memory.
