With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Jane Coward of Harvest, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 16, 2024 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Cobb and Lena Cobb; her husband Jim Coward; and her son Donald Coward. She is survived by: her son Randy Coward (Tina) of Harvest, AL; her grandchildren, Danna Campbell (Mark), Maxon Bromley, Jimmy Bromley, Bryan Stanley (Lexie) and Robert Stanley (Taylor); and her siblings, Ed Cobb of Huntsville, AL, Boyd Cobb of Chattanooga, TN, Jean Smith of Louisville, KY and Louise Anne Wiatt of Bryan, TX.. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Harmony Baptist Church (873 Toney Rd, Toney, AL 35773). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at the Huntsville Memory Gardens Cemetery (6810 University Drive NW, Hwy 72 W, Huntsville, AL 35806).
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be given in Doris's memory to Harmony Baptist Church (873 Toney Road, Toney, AL, 35773.).
