He was predeceased by: his parents, Irmel Lafaye Smith and Doris Helen Gatlin Jennings; his stepfather W. H. Jennings; and his brother Ladois Smith. He is survived by: his wife Robbie Spratlin Smith; his sons, Jason Smith (Jessica), Jeremy Smith (Julie) and Joshua Smith; his siblings, Darvin Smith (Vicki), Wendy Shaddix (Elton) and Lori Chaffin; and his grandchildren, Audrey Smith, Alaina Smith, Cole Smith and Carly Grace Smith.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations be made to Enhabit Hospice or to the Parkinson's Foundation.
