He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Virgil Johnston and Lillian Maxwell Holmes Johnston; and his daughter Sarah Catherin Johnston Roy. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Allen Johnston; his children, Stephen Johnston (Christin), Sharon Freudenthal (John) and Sandy Doherty (Daniel); and his son-in-law Colin Roy.
