He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Owens and Dorothy Reed Owens; and his wife Barbara Owens. He is survived by: his children, Jesse Owens, Jr. (Peggy) and Leisa Owens (Brad Lindley); his brother Brooks Owens (Linda); his grandchildren, Crissy Defenthaler (Joey), Kelley Rutherford (Chandler) and Jessica Smith (Jordan); and his great grandchildren, Millie Defenthaler, Boss Reutherford, Tucker Smith and Sutton Smith.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
