He was predeceased by: his parents, James Virgil Thomas, Sr. and Ida Sprague Thomas; his wife Frances Thomas; his children, Wanda Primeaux and Melin Allen; and his brother C. W. Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Dr. James "Bud" Thomas (Lisa), Drew Istre (Cheryl) of Kalispell, MT and Linda Morgan; his siblings, Lila May LeBlanc, Pete Thomas and Paul Thomas; his son-in-law Ray Primeaux (Fifteen); and his grandchild Twenty. He is also survived by Twenty-two Great Grandchildren and Numerous Great Great Grandchildren.
