He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dempsey and Euna Mae Davidson Dempsey; his daughter Teresa Dempsey; and his siblings, John Edward, Sidney Dempsey and Rosa Mae Dempsey Ivey.

He is survived by: his wife Cindy Dempsey; his children, Todd Burgess (Krystal), Shannon Dempsey and Staci Maples (Tracy Maples); and his siblings, Sam Dempsey Wayne Dempsey, Gladys Dempsey Birchsfield (Don) and Martha Dempsey Dabbs. He is also survived by Ten Grandchildren Eight Great Grandchildren.
