He was predeceased by: his father Dennis Hovis. He is survived by: his mother Joyce Sims Hovis; his children, Christopher Hufman, Daniel Seibert, Summer Hovis and Jaden Hovis; his grandmother Betty Hovis; and his brothers, Bradley Hovis and Kevin Hovis. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
