He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. Thomas Frasier Williams and Rachel Honeycutt Williams; his wife Elizabeth Archer Cassada Williams of Fredericksburg; his daughter Carey Williams Getis; his son-in-law Joel Getis of Leesburg; his son Keller Williams; his daughter-in-law Emily Greenlaw Williams of Fredericksburg; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Getis of New York City, Susanna Getis of Leesburg, Ella Williams of Fredericksburg and Cabell Williams of Fredericksburg; and his cousin Andrew McKinnon of Washington, D. C..
