With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marie Wood of Hartford, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 8, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Tennyson and Mary Cooper Tennyson; her husband Malcom Wood; her sons, Floyd Wood and Norman Wood; and her sister Violet Tennyson.
She is survived by: her sons, Alan Wood and Bryan Wood (Karen); her grandchildren, Tory Carter (Aaron), Aubrey Wood, Alan Michael Wood (Kennedi Grace), Jesse Wood, Bryan Wood, Jr., Gary Gene Waymire and Tyler Waymire; her great grandchildren, Liam and Carter; and her siblings, Marvin Tennyson, Margerette Spinwebber and Carol Beard. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home (1315 W Lawrence St, Slocomb, AL 36375).
