She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Johns and Irene Kasulka Johns; her husband Oren Brooks, Sr.; her sons, Oren Brooks, Jr. and Gary Lynn Brooks; and her siblings, Shirley Beshears and Dwight Johns.
She is survived by: her daughter Marteen Barbee Bailey (Shane); her daughters-in-law, Sonja Brooks and Trisha Brooks; her grandchildren, Elisha Thomas, Courtney Beckwith (Tommy) and Jayce Brooks-Barbee; and her sisters, Carol Striker and Doris Faulkner. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
