She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Ludean Cook of Vernon and L. C. Cook of Paris, Mississippi.; and her husband Bennett Mayer Berman. She is survived by: her children, Adelyn (Bennett) and Paula Newman (Dan Newman) of Huntsville, AL; her grandchildren, Barrett, Margaret "Maggie" and Davis; her nephew Chris Cook of Vernon, AL; and also Charles Cook.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of Jan's love for her late husband, Bennett.
