She was predeceased by: her daughter Elizabeth Swinney; and her grandparents, R. L., Alice Newton, Howard and Genia Tidwell.

She is survived by: her husband Darrell Swinney; her children, Jessica Wood (Tyler), Will Melson and Allison Swinney; her grandson Jackson Wood; her parents, Roy Newton and Nancy Newton; and her siblings, Nicole Corfman (Paul) and Patrick Newton (Jennifer). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
