He is survived by: his children, Jamie Scruggs (Tansi Kidwell), John Scruggs (Joan Thompson), Kathy Rowland (Tim), Karen Gravitt (Bubba), Sharon Smith and Jacob Shelton (Heather); his grandchildren, Cody Scruggs, Kristin Spann (Drake), Walker Scruggs, Hunter Scruggs, Allyson Rowland, Haley Rowland, Kaylin Brasher (Blade), Brody Gravitt, Meagan Smith, Emily Jo Smith, Kyleigh Shelton and Landon Shelton; his great grandchildren, Caroline Scruggs, Jax Spann and Remi Jo Brasher; and his sisters, Annette Casteel (Jim), Violet Mitchell (late Jerry) and Wanda Hawkins (Frank). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
