He was predeceased by: his parents, John Silas and Bertha Silas; and his siblings, John Thomas Silas, Beatrice Parr, Uarlee Silas, Christine Flanagan, Ulas Silas and Gladys Burleson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Gay McCormick Silas; his sons, Greg Silas (Susan) and Paul Silas (Regina); his grandchildren, Meagan Silas Matechak (John), William Silas, Allison Silas, Tyler Silas, Aaron Durrence, Olivia Durrence and Alison Durrence; and his sisters, Evelyn Thomas and Irene Silas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
