It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Edwards of Haleyville, Alabama, who passed away on March 2, 2025, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Velma Edwards to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Heath and Anna Shelnutt Heath; her husband Andrew Jackson Edwards; her sons, Veto Edwards and Billy Edwards; her brothers, Lenard, Lester, Junior, Roy and Paul Heath; and her grandson Todd Edwards.
She is survived by: her children, Charles Lee Edwards, Janis Edwards Cole, Joan Edwards Logan and Douglas Hugh Edwards (Linda); and her sister Nina Allen (Pauline Mancuso). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; a host of family and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Pinkard Funeral Home (1308 21st St, Haleyville, AL 35565). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
