With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Roe Morris Hughes of Haleyville, Alabama, born in Franklin, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 2, 2025 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Hargett Hughes; his son Gillie Morris Hughes; his parents, Clarence V. Hughes and Birdie Massey Hughes; and his siblings-in-law, Glen Hargett and Jewel Hargett Holcomb.
He is survived by: his daughter Charlotte Hughes (Ray); his stepchildren, Amber Ray Thompson (Seth) and Blake Ray (Talea); his great grandchildren, Sydney Thompson, Carter Thompson, Hadley Ray and Ava Ray; his stepson David Ray; and his siblings-in-law, Jimmy Hargett (Frances), Jack Hargett (Bonnie) and Brenda Bragwell.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Pinkard Funeral Home (27305 AL-24, Russellville, AL 35653). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
