She was predeceased by: her husband Chester Hood; her parents, Marcus George Burnett and Mamie McLemore Burnett; her siblings, Bertha Smith (Bill), Clarence Burnett (Francis), Earnest Burnett (Mabel), Sherman Burnett, G. T. Burnett (Wanda Nell), Ruby Mays (Gravis) and Faye McCreless; and also, Edward Hood (Flora), J. C. Hood (Ella Dean) and Clarence Hood (Bobbie).
She is survived by: her children, Lynda G. Pounders (Orbie) and Jerry Ray Hood (Sonya); her sister Frances Burnett; her siblings-in-law, Charlotte Burnett and Hoyatt McCreless; and her grandchildren, Eric Tice (Cindy), Joel Pounders (Rhonda), Jeff Pounders (Paula), Amanda Hood Davis (Dammion), Jennifer Pounders Oliver (Brett), Alison Hood Mason and T. J. Conway. She is also survived by cousins, nieces & nephews, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and her many friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Waldrop Freewill Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
