It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lora Mae Whitman Newell (Haleyville, Alabama), who passed away on June 2, 2019, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her daughter Carolyn Sue Whitman Tidwell; her grandchildren, Paul Ashley Johnson and Rhonda Tidwell Barnes; and her siblings, Maggie Brooks, O'Neal Godsey, Nartis Godsey, James Godsey, Evalee Godsey and Lonely Godsey.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Johnson (Sammy), Walton Whitman (Doris) and Tommy R. Whitman. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
