He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Posey and Docie Posey; his former wife Nancy Kilpatrick Posey; his wife Barbara Arnold Posey; his son Steven Maxwell Posey; and his siblings, Owen Posey, Essie Noles and Rachel League.
He is survived by: his son Stan Posey (Sanda); his stepdaughters, Janie Gilbert (Tim) and Mary Burleson (Bob); his brother Murlen Posey (Betty); his granddaughter Anna Posey; and his stepgranddaughter Perri Leigh Cimo (Tanner).
