He was predeceased by: his father Alvin Gipson; his grandparents, Reverend Denton, Leola Adams, Frank and Minnie Gipson; his parents-in-law, Reverend James "Bud" and Maggie Helton; and his uncle Winfred "Unc" Gipson.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Helton Gipson; his children, Stacy Gipson Pence (Stephen Hagood), Dusty Gipson (Lauren Gipson) and Brittany Gipson; his grandchildren, Presley Pence, Dylan Gipson and Molly Gipson; his mother Mary Nell Gipson; his brother Steve Gipson (Paula Gipson); his nieces and nephews, Roselynne, Clarissa, Lydia, Seth and Noah Gipson; and his grandchildren, Stacy, Dusty, Brittany, Logan Gipson and Cash Pence. He is also survived by several aunts, a host of loving cousins, and a multitude of friends.
