He was predeceased by: his son Dennis Vernon; his grandson Zachary Barnett; his parents, Houston Barnett and Liddie Barnett; and his siblings, Albert, Wayne Barnett, Vestal Humphries and Edna Tucker.
He is survived by: his wife Christine McCullough Barnett; his daughters, Deborah Brandon (Dale), Tammy Lackey (Phillip) and Michelle Barnett; his grandsons, Dakota Slusher, Tyler Lackey, Nate Ford and Jesse Lackey; his great grandchildren, Landon Barnett, Ryder Slusher, Lucas Brandon, Brynleigh Slusher and Grayson Ford; and his sister Ruth Elmore.
