He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer "Rip" Lawson and Mary "Lizzy" Jarmon; and his siblings, Bill Lawson, George Lawson, Edna Merle Alexander, Bobbie Alexander and Dorothy Wallace.
He is survived by: his significant other Dorothy "Dot" Lawson; his children, James Brad Lawson (Jana) and Janet Lawson Cox "Jan" (Lee); his siblings, Verbon Lawson (Virginia) and Lou Walker; and his grandchildren, Cameron Cox (Abby), Clayton Cox (Nicole), Mckaela Conner, Kyle Lawson (Destiny) and John Conner Lawson (Alana). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
