It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michael Rice of Gulf Shores, Alabama, who passed away on January 25, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmo Rice and Lucille Rice; and his brothers, Arthur Bill and Jimmy Don Bill. He is survived by: his wife Darla Rice of Gulf Shores, AL; his sons, Charlie Rice (Cindy), William Rice (Susan) and Doug Massey (Jana); his stepchildren, Adam Lewis (Alicia) and Katie Gatton (Ryan); his grandchildren, Jimmy Rice, Christopher Rice, Jessica Burchett (Will), Tabitha DaMetz (Justin), Celena Cox (Ryan Sullivan), T. J. Cox (Lindsay Bartgis), Mallory Ortiz (Kenneth), Kyndal Massey (Lina), Kade Massey and Lainey Gatton; his sister Sharon Lester (John); his siblings-in-law, Linda Ballowe, Randy Klein (Lori) and David Klein (Leighann Worthen); and his pets, Rowdy and Quin. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, loving relatives and friends.

“I remember Mike as a very kind gentleman and always spoke to me on the range or elsewhere. In fact a few days before his surgery, he told me to slow down my backswing and count 1,000, 1,001, etc. I will always think of him when I use this golf tip. Love and prayers to Darla and family.”
