It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gladys Irene Colburn Harry (Gulf Shores, Alabama), who passed away on May 4, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ludie Melton and Emma C. Colburn; her husband Billy G. Harry; her grandsons, Dennis Randall Harry, Sr. and Christopher Michael Myers; and her siblings, Dorothy Colburn, Evangeline James and Rayford Colburn.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Harry (Helen) of Cuba, Dewayne Harry (Lisa) of Dekalb, Mississippi, Deborah Simon (Danny) of Porterville, Mississippi, Darlene Simmons (Ray) of Bellamy and Denise Shumate (Steve) of Gulf Shores; and her siblings, Billy Colburn (Jeanne) of Gulf Shores, Evelyn Massey of Foley, Faye Sizemore (Bob) of Foley, Ann Ferrell of Gulf Shores and Sue Jockish of Spanish Fort. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Due to the Covid19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be held Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Briggs Chapel Cemetery in Portersville, Mississippi with Bro. Greg Briggs officiating.
