He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburn Russell and Altie Reynolds Saunders; his wife Anne Newell Saunders of Starkville; his daughter Debbra Fowler; and his siblings, Wilburn Saunders Jr., Grosie Heath Holland and Altie Patterson.
He is survived by: his son David Saunders Jr. (Sally); his grandchildren, Cris Fowler, Jennifer Took (Daniel), Jordan Casey (Zac) and Regan Saunders; and his great grandchildren, Ava, Stella and Ezra Took. He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
