Brister Sr.; his siblings, John Brister Jr., Carl Ben Brister, Glen Brister and Violet Richardson; his wife Myriam Diaz; his children, Brenda Tsavatewa of Macon, GA, Stephen Brister, Jon Brister and Andres Santas of Gulf Shores, AL.; his stepchildren, Brian Luckie, Dianne Guiffre and Sandra Luckie; his sons, Jose Sabogal (Adrianna Sabogal) and Juan Carlos Sabogal (Cindy Sabogal); his grandchildren, Christopher Tsavatewa, Joshua Tsavatewa, Brianne Tsavatewa, Tyler Lester, Camilla Sabogal, Sarah Sabogal, Anna Sabogal, Mia Sabogal and Mercy Sabogal; his nephew Johnny Brister; his niece Karen Richardson; and his children, Sam, Buster, Lulu, Lucas, Buck, Tacky Jack, Scooby Doo and Wyatt.
His death is due to complications related to Alzheimer's disease.
