It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray Sheffield of Grove Hill, Alabama, who passed away on May 22, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Sheffield and Sadie Skipworth Sheffield; and his siblings, Willie B. Sheffield, Henry Lee Sheffield, Ralph Sheffield, Grady Sheffield, Nell Smith, Alda Rae Woolfolk, Clarice Hoven and Katherine Sessions.

He is survived by: his wife Jane Powell Sheffield; his children, Randy Sheffield (Christy), Tammy Cross (Bo) and Tony; his grandchildren, Jami Kaplan (Michael), Mark Sheffield (Charley), Meg Furrow (Hunter), Sam Stabler, Hunter Cross (Caitlin), Mary Ray Brutkiewicz (Casey), Rob Dickinson (Danaka) and Chad Dickinson (Maggie); his brother Larry Gene Sheffield (Marie); and his friends, Cobbie Robinson, Herbert Chapman and Tina Davis. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
