He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar F. Whitfield and Mellie Whitfield. He is survived by: his wife Mary Branton Whitfield; and his sons, Larry Wayne Whitfield, Roger Alan Whitfield and Bruce Edward Whitfield. He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
