He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Dent, Jr. and Barbara Redding Dent; his sister Virgina "Aunt Jenny" Dent Giddens; and his pets, Fred and Gator.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Bates Dent of Logan; his daughters, Carol Dent Casto (Dave) of Circleville, Margaret Jane Dent of Logan and Jessica Lynn Dent (Carolee Taylor) of Montgomery, Alabama.; his grandsons, Joshua Michael Strickland of Tuscaloosa and Alexander Ray Casto of Circleville; and his siblings, Eddie Dent (Cindy) of Crestucky and Kitty Carlise of Mandeville Louisiana. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Bill wanted donations made to St. Jude's Children Hospital or have a tree planted in his name.
