He is survived by: his children, Ritchie Hester and James Carter Heartsill; his grandchildren, Heather Jayroe, Brad Heartsill and Shaye Heartsill; his great grandchildren, Tyler Jones, Hannah Jayroe, Austin Heartsill, Nathan Heartsill, Riley Heartsill and Will Heartsill; and his sister Magdaline Grant. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
