He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ward Schertz and Lucille Pearl Mensen Winters; and his sister Pat Adams. He is survived by: his wife Linda G. Schertz; his children, Daniel Schertz of Greenville, SC, Malissa Cruickshanks (Jon) of Sonora, CA, Lynnea Schertz of Merced, CA and Tracy Atkinson of Medford, OR; and his siblings, Bill Schertz (Nancy) of Merced, CA, Neil Schertz (Lisa) of Merced, CA and Loy Creel (Joe) of Coalinga, CA. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren and his seven great-grandchildren.
