He was predeceased by: his grandson Bryce Rodgers; his parents, William Small and Ruby Small; and his siblings, Marion Shephard and David Small.

He is survived by: his children, Dennis Small, Dawn Rodgers Johnathan Lee (Michael) and Christopher Lee; his grandchildren, Kayla Small, Jacob Small, Bryson Small, Tristen Stinson and Keller Rodgers; his great grandchild John Waylon McKenzie; and his siblings, James Small (Joyce), William Russell Small and Janice Castle (Jimmy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
