She was predeceased by: her parents, Mollie Layne and Roy T. Layne; her husband Charles Laverne Brown; her daughter Vickie Starkie; and her brother Raybon Layne.
She is survived by: her son Rick Brown (Carmelita) of Madison; her son-in-law Robbie Starkie of Tampa; her granddaughters, Mollie Durham (Eric) of Villa Rica, Georgia and Jenny Waters (Josh) of Tampa; her great grandchildren, Charley Waters and EJ Durham; her siblings, Toddy Layne of Fayetteville and June Lowe of Lewisburg; and her daughter Cindy Sirmon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
