She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Foster Owens and Lavertte D. Owens; and her husband William Ronald Newton. She is survived by: her children, Julie Hedden (Randy), Wanda Owens Johnson, Stevie Newton (Kim), Jarrod Newton (Kim) and Veronica Bozeman (Randy). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, along with other extended family.
