He is survived by: his wife Betty Salter Branum; his sons, William "Bill" Branum and Barry Branum; his sister Judy B. Griswold of Troy, AL; and his sisters-in-law, Jane Branum of Lauderdale, MS and Bonnie S. Morris of Milton, FL. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins and family, and many, many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church, St. Jud's Children's Hospital, or Shiner's Hospital for Children.
