He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Katherine Prater; his parents, Jim Lloyd and Pearlie Jane Prater; and his brothers, James Lloyd Prater and Lester Prater.
He is survived by: his sons, Terry Prater and Tim Prater; his grandchildren, Nick Prater, Daniel Prater, Heather Corbin and Faleena Scruggs; his great grandchildren, Carma Eleanor Prater, Bellamy Prater, Mason Corbin, Bentley Corbin, Annerson Eli Corbin, Walker Scruggs and Keegan Scruggs; and his sisters, Delana, Becky, Norma Lee, Easter, Ester, Dollie and Donnie Ray.
