It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sonny Powers of Greensboro, Alabama, who passed away on June 5, 2022, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Columbus Franklin Powers; his wife Carolyn S. Powers; his mother Marie Powers (Williams) of Deland; his sister Susan McPherson; and his grandchildren, Cade, Cara, Brennan, Eden and Mariella Charris.
He is survived by: his children, Christophe Powers (Allen Murphy) of Lawrenceville, GA, Chèrise Charris (Rafael) of Boaz, AL and Kerri Vintson (Chris) of Brilliant, AL; his grandchildren, Statyn Vintson, Christian Charris, Clay Vintson, Tiffany Pugh (Chris) and Gabriel Charris (Rachael); his great grandchildren, Carter Pugh, Andrew Pugh and Molli Charris; and his brother Roger Powers (Karen) of Kingston, GA. He is also survived by siblings-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America.
