He was predeceased by: his father George E. Thomas. He is survived by: his mother Lottis Thomas; his son Chris Thomas (Kimberly); his sister Gretta Otts (David); and his grandchildren, Patrick, Anne Griffin and Ridge Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Mt. Hermon Cemetery fund or the Alabama Cattlemen's Association.
