Barbara McCrory Abernathy Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara McCrory Abernathy of Greensboro, Alabama, who passed away on April 18, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas E. Abernathy; her parents, Sid McCrory and Maggie McCrory; her siblings, Mildred Swanson, Gayzelle Thomas, Peggy Coley and J. D. McCrory; and her daughter Lisa Abernathy Washburn.
She is survived by: her daughters, Betty Ann Sanders (David) and Debra Reynolds (Scott); and her grandchildren, Matthew Reynolds (Kyla), Allison McIntyre (Dustin) and Thomas Reynolds (Ninna). She is also survived by 5 Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Greensboro Baptist Church (908 Main St, Greensboro, AL 36744). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 3:15 PM to 3:45 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery (511 College St, Greensboro, AL 36744).
In lieu of flowers the family request donations in memory of Barbara Abernathy be made to Hospice of West Alabama or an organization of your choice.
