She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruby Miller and Clint Miller; her husband Leon Brasfield; her son Jerry Brasfield; her children-in-law, Kay, Sallie and Craig Gerson; and her sister Mary Ruth Jones.
She is survived by: her children, Ginger Gerson, Tammy Brasfield Townes (Marty), Terry Brasfield and Jeff Brasfield; and her siblings, Kathleen Thomas, Ruby Turner and Posey Miller. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
