He was predeceased by: his father Emory Thomas; and his sister Melony Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Sally Thomas; his children, Chris Thomas (Angie), Tammy Jackson (Joey) and Jennifer Brooks (Tim); his grandchildren, Trent Thomas (Charitee), Anna Grace Thomas, Joelee Jackson, Cole Brooks, Mase Brooks and Roc Jackson; his mother Catherine Thomas; and his brothers, Larry Thomas (Derita) and Russell Thomas (Jodi). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
