We are sad to announce that on August 15, 2021, at the age of 84, Annie Mertes of Gordon, Alabama, born in Donalsonville, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alto Jefferson Guilford and Stella Mae Floyd Guilford; her son Danny Strickland; and her siblings, Sally Clark, Mattie McCord, A. J. Guilford and Buddy Guilford.
She is survived by: her husband Dennis Mertes of Gordon; her children, James C. Lewis (Drenda) of Newton and Ann Spurling (Allen) of Gordon; her brother Johnny "Roly" Guilford (Debbie) of Lovetown; her grandsons, Nicholas Lewis (Ashley) of Newton and James "BJ" Spurling (Jessica) of Gordon; her great grandchildren, Bradley Lewis, Christopher Lewis and Danny Spurling; her granddaughter Karleigh Redmon; and her close friend Odie. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; faithful fur dog.
