He was predeceased by: his siblings, Emitte Neel, Jr., Eugene Neel, Myrtle Ruth Alexander and Martha Ann Johnson; and his parents, Emitte Neel, Sr. and Myrtle Ruth Williams Neel.
He is survived by: his wife Anne McAteer Neel; his sons, Thomas Conwell Neel, Jr., Robert Michael Neel (Barbara) and Richard Nicholas Neel (Holly); his grandchildren, Chris Neel (Penny), Emily Neel Guin (Ryan), Hannah Neel, Susannah Neel and Jack Neel; and his great grandchildren, Lawson Neel, Jase Neel, Cannon Neel and Geiger Neel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
