He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ronald Lee Blakney and Rebecca "Becky" Blakney; his niece Dawn Leigh Fleishman; and his parents, James "Junior" Blakney, Jr. and Bertha Lee Crowell Blakney.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Bowles (Kenneth), James "Jamie" Blakney (Cindy) and Billy Byars (Monica); his sister Patricia Richardson; and his siblings-in-law, Brenda Blakney and Paul Channell.
