He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jean Harris Koon; his son William David "Meatball" Koon; his siblings, Fred, Earlie, Willis Koon, Ruth Hayes, Rachel Kiker, Sara Nell Koon and Trudie Little; and his parents, Mosey Milburn Koon and Dulie Ann Crocker Koon.
He is survived by: his children, Teresa Smith (Wes), Donald Koon (Debbie) and Ronny Koon (Charlotte); his brother Marvin Koon; his grandchildren, Kris, Shane (Amy), Keith (Amy Burroughs), Daniel, Benji Koon, Kahla Fray (Brandon) and Amber Smith; his great grandchildren, Halli, Jace Koon, Makinley, Sawyer Koon and Collin Koon; his siblings-in-law, Earl Harris (Rosemary) and Margie Koon; and his daughters-in-law, Rachel Koon and Phyllis Steele. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
