It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Raiford Shirley (Gordo, Alabama), who passed away on February 27, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Nell Elmore Shirley; his siblings, Katie Banks (Lewis), Louise Koon, Betty Gray (Elliott), Christine Smith (Clifford), Magaline Connell (James), Thomas Shirley, Robert Lee Shirley and Wilford Shirley (Joan); his brothers-in-law, Dawson Elmore, Ralph Elmore, Price Elmore, James and Rolf Gregory; and his parents, Lee Paris Shirley and Wilma Janet Elmore Shirley.
He is survived by: his children, Sheila Shirley Wood (Larry) and Randall Shirley (Ronda); his siblings, Diane Criswell, Geraldine Lowe (Harold), Joe Shirley (Gail) and Davis Shirley (Linda); his grandchildren, Jennifer Elmore (Luke), Kristen Posey (Stephen), Kaley Grocholski (Seth), Brendan Wood (Kacie), Deanna Wood and Jordan Shaw (Corey); his great grandchildren, Emily Grimes, Gracie Elmore, Ryder Elmore, Kaden Posey, Kolten Posey, Kinley Grocholski, Peyton Grocholski, Hunter Wood, Daniel Trawick and Jacob Trawick; and his sisters-in-law, Elsie Holliman, Mary Gwin (Bob), Loretta Gregory, Catherine Shirley, June Elmore and Tootsie Ayers.
