He was predeceased by: his siblings, L. C. Elmore and Martha Elmore McCaleb; and his parents, Julian Bruce Elmore and Roena Hannah Elmore. He is survived by: his wife Sheena Atkins Elmore; his children, Rheena Elmore, Crystal Bane (Jimmy), James Elmore and Darryl Elmore; his grandchildren, Taylor Elmore-Holman, Brandon Elmore and James Bane II (Cecile); his great grandchildren, Ellie Grace Bane, Morgan Bane, Grayson Elmore, Braydon Elmore and Braxton Elmore; and his sisters, Edna Elmore Bailey and Carolyn Elmore Summers (Donald). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
